IVBV - UIAGM - IFMGA Mountain Guide

Jose Leonardo is known for his vast experience in the mountaineering and guiding field. In over ten years as working as a full certified mountain guide he summited the Cotopaxi and the Iliniza Norte over 100 times and the Chimborazo over 80 times. Further, Jose Leonardo is recognized for his empathic and composed personality and his professionalism in his expeditions. His desire to advances his technical and personal skills continuously brings his clients the highest safety and ethical standards.

Jose Leonardo’s passion for mountaineering expresses also in his various international ascents like the South Face in Bolivia, Aguille du Midi in France and the Quitaraju in Peru.

IVBV - UIAGM - IFMGA Mountain Guide

With over 30 years of guiding experience, Diego Zurito is one of the most experienced and skilled guides in Ecuador. Diego is certified IVBV – UIAGM – IFMGA mountain guide and is also executing courses for ASEGUIM’s mountaineering school. The drive to advance his professional skills and guiding quality lead him to numerous international trainings and coaching’s all around the world.

His quality as a mountaineer reflects in the various summits in South America, North America and in Europe. He ascended in Peru the Alpamayo, Quitaraju and Artesonraju, in Bolivia the Sajama, Illampu, in Argentina the Ancohuma, in the USA the Denali and in Europe the Mont Blanc. Combined with his broad expertise in Ecuadorian culture, history and nature Diego brings a complete guiding package to our clients.

Juan Espinosa

IVBV - UIAGM - IFMGA Mountain Guide Candidate

Juan Espinosa’s guiding career and passion for mountaineering started at University when he came in touch with an Andinism club. Later he was part of the team of Ecuador’s Instituto Geofisico, where he helped to supervise the Cotopaxi area. By guiding numerous expeditions in the highest and most difficult Ecuadorian mountains, Juan gained expansive guiding experience. Further he is recognized for his Altar’s Obispos ascents, which is known as the hardest Ecuadorian mountain to be climbed.

Juan is also IVBV and UIAGM certified and currently he is finishing the IFMGA Mountain Guide Certification. His clients value his empathic personality, professionalism and his broad knowledge about Ecuador’s culture, people and nature. Beside his passion for mountaineering and rock climbing, Juan loves to do other outdoor activities like trail running, horse riding and mountain biking.

Daniel Milla

IVBV - UIAGM - IFMGA Mountain Guide

By growing up near the Huayhuash Mountain Range, which is considered as one of the best mountaineering destinations in Peru, Daniel was born to be a mountaineer. From a young age on he was part of the expeditions of his father which lead to the decision to start guiding groups by himself. Now he is a certified IVBV, UIAGM and IFMGA Mountain Guide and climbed numerous mountains throughout Latin America. Beside guiding international expeditions, he is working in the Secretary of the Peruvian Mountain Guides Association AGMP and attends regularly international coaching’s to enhance his guiding skills.

Daniel also holds two speed-records on Alpamayo and Quitaraju. He made the impossible possible and mastered this ascent in 32 hours and 16 minutes, where the normal tour time lays between 6 – 7 days. The combination of profound guiding experience and an empathic personality makes Daniel for us the perfect partner for our tours and expeditions in Peru.

Lorena Ramirez

National Guide

Already in 1990 Lorena Ramirez turned her passion into a profession and became a certified national guide. Since then, her clients have been able to benefit from her excellent English and German language skills as well as her profound knowledge of Ecuador’s history, geography and fauna and flora.

She also has a strong interest in archaeology, where she has worked on numerous projects over the years. Furthermore, she has spent part of her life in an indigenous community where she has learned a lot about indigenous cultures, which she can share now with her clients.

National Guide

With 25 years of guiding experience in the tourism field, Monica has extensive knowledge about the history, geography, archeology and art of Ecuador. She has gained her great experience over the years through numerous works and projects in tourist fairs, site museums and in travel agencies. In addition, with her excellent German and English language skills she is a high valued guide for international clients and tours. 

She spends most of her leisure time in the different marvelous regions of Ecuador, where she loves to do trekking, horse riding or just to observe the Ecuadorian flora and fauna.

Already with the age of 16 years Marcial Vasquez started his mountaineering and guiding career. Since them he got IVBV – UIAGM – IFMGA certified and worked also as the president of the Ecuadorian Mountain Guides Association. Now, he got over 25 years of mountaineering and guiding experience on his back which brings you safety and enjoyment in every ascent.

Further by attending a tour with Marcial you will experience his professionalism, his excellent tour organization and his fine company with his clients. Worth mentioning is also his work as Geologist, which gives you interesting insights about Ecuador’s mountains, fauna and flora.
